Portfolio

These are my favorite pictures from all the photographs I have taken. Don’t ask me what it takes to get a photo onto this list. It might be a really good picture, it might hold a special memory, or who knows what.

Film noir style photograph of Storybook Barn Rogersville, Missouri at dusk

Late Arrivals – This photograph is begging to have its story told. Which is appropriate given the name of the venue – Storybook Barn. I wonder what the story might be?

Black and white photograph of the Crystal Bridges Restaurant - 'Eleven'

We chose to visit on a record breaking day for the museum. I think that helped with these pictures taken in the restaurant. +8

Twentieth Century Art Gallery at Crystal Bridges

Unfortunately, this gallery was closed. It made up for it by making a great picture though. Crystal Bridges Art Museum, Arkansas.

Black and White Photograph of the sculpture Sappho by William Wetmore Story (1819 - 1895). Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

Working in the dark provides its challenges and rewards. I came to Crystal Bridges hoping to be inspired, I was. 1   4

Photograph of a Hibiscus flower in Black and white

Hibiscus – Black and White — When I noticed the sunlight dappling the flower I decided to take the picture, no matter how twee hibiscus flower pictures are.

Keystone 8mm Home Movie Camera

Keystone 8mm Home Movie Camera — I needed a stock picture for an advert promoting a Facebook Live Video event. Rather than buy something, I took a quick picture of a movie camera in my collection.

Photograph of a writing desk in a rustic environment

I like this crop so much, I wish I’d taken this as a separate picture. However, the wider shots I took came out pretty well too. 3

Chandelier Through the Window — This is probably an unrepeatable picture, as very shortly the clear pane is going to be replaced with frosted glass.

Lanie had an ensemble role in this year’s school musical – Big Fish. She had seven costumes and 14 costume changes … Album: 2   44

A carpet of full leaves in a painterly view of browns and yellows

A Carpet of Fall Leaves. I really like the full frame version of this image, but I love how this close-in crop brings out what I call a ‘painterly rendering’ from the camera. 2

Fr. Jonathan Frazier, Rector, St. Peter & All Saints, Kansas City, Missouri. This was a picture I took partly for work, and partly for myself.

Hathersage and Hope from Higgar Tor

Hathersage and Hope from Higgar Tor. 3

Still Life – the colors were just asking to be captured.

Tourists – the Roman Baths, Bath UK – My favorite picture from our visit.

Hotel Eastlund, Portland Oregon. Corridor seemingly stretching to infinity. Black and White Photograph.

Infinity – Clever painting and carpet coordination. The areas outside the rooms were painted black and the carpet was also black, creating these visual stripes and making the corridor look like it went on forever.

Font and Flag Sometimes while I’m working I spot a picture that I want to take for myself, this is the second of the two pictures I took while documenting the area confirmation service at St. James’ here in Springfield.

Color photograph of the Kauffman Center For The Performing Arts, Kansas City. The picture shows the blue of the sky reflected in the metal sheathing and is complemented by a stip of yellow-brown grass around the base.

Kauffman Center For The Performing Arts, Kansas City – I popped out of the diocesan office in Kansas City for a meeting and found myself in a pastiche of Sydney, Australia.

Lanie and the sunset – A last look at the sunset before we head back. 2

Silhouette of swimmers in the sea at sunset taken at Widemouth Bay Cornwall, UK on June 24, 2014.

Twilight Swimmers – Vacation Day 20 – Widemouth Bay, Cornwall.

A group of people walk towards the sunset and sea on the beach at Widemouth, Cornwall, UK. Taken on June 24, 2014

A Stroll on the Beach at Sunset, Widemouth Bay, Cornwall. And what a glorious sunset it was too.

Dumfries Solstice Sunset – Lanie and Ginger watch the solstice sunset in Scotland.

Easter Vigil.

This was our view of Truman lake first thing Saturday morning. Wonderful. Ginger got a better picture of this, but I’m quite happy with this image.
