Here I am all cozy, fifty yards or so back from the bluff. The foliage on the edge of the bluff was so thick I didn’t bother to try and set up my hammock with a view out over the bluff.

I made one mistake — I drank a cup of coffee. I gave up coffee nine months ago, and just one cup left me feeling all jittery for several hours. Hot chocolate or decaff it will have to be in future.

    1. Oh yes, but the amounts are comparatively small — The packets of hot chocolate I use have a tiny amount. Not enough for me to notice any physiological impact, very different from the tremors I experienced with the Starbucks Via coffee.

I am still looking for a good hot drink for backpacking though because the hot chocolate sachets weigh a massive amount compared to micro-ground coffee. Checking online I see that the Starbucks Via range now also includes a decaffienated option. Again it will still have caffeine, but a lot less. I might give that a try.
