Out of office

Pictures taken when I’m working away from home, on a trip, or on a visit.

It is going to be a long day today. I left at nine and plan to be at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church by midday. Then we have four hours to get everything ready for the four pm Celebration of Absalom Jones service. After that, break everything down and drive three hours home.

My first Sunday church visit in eighteen months or more. Today I’m in Joplin discussing church marketing.

The Baptism of Persephone – I’ve often said that working for the Church I am privileged to be present at key moments in people’s lives. Unexpectedly that happened at this weekend’s Easter Vigil service. One-minute read, 2 pictures

Communications Director with the WEMO Youth — Just to prove that the diocesan Communications Director does venture out from behind his keyboard and camera once in a while. Here I am with the WEMO Youth and WEMO Jesus.

Diocesan Convention – ERD Workshop – These pictures serve to prove that on occasion I leave the confines of my office and venture out into the real world to do some work. Two-minute read, 5 pictures

Photograph of The new flame of the Easter Vigil, used to light the candles before the Easter Vigil service at Christ Episcopal Church, Springfield, MIssouri. Easter 2014.

The new flame of the Easter Vigil — I was looking for a cover picture for the April issue of Spirit. I took this photograph a year ago, and it’s been residing in my archives ever since. My search for something relevant and cover-worthy eventually uncovered it.

At the top of the stairs (365: 123) — If I am being very good, twice a day I climb the stairs of the seven-story building opposite my office.

Planted Reflection (365: 40) — My 365 Days set takes itself far too seriously, so this had to be my choice for today. Taken at the end of a business trip to Leeds.

Leeds Arcades & Market — I’m in Leeds for a business meeting. With some spare time before my flight home, off I went exploring the arcades and the market.
