Self Portrait

Pictures of me, taken by myself. I tend to go with the official (365 Days) definition of a self portrait: “A self portrait is a photo of yourself taken by you” … “The main thing is that you are both the photographer and the subject.”

Something Traditional (365: 37) — Something traditional = No imagination today.

Sunday Reading. +2

Sunday Reading (365: 36) — I like the shadow at the top of the frame, I noticed it before I started taking the shot and wanted to include it.

Negative Space.

Day-036 Reject — I Knew there was a reasonable picture in the dozens I took. It took a long time to find it, and even then, it’s meh.

Don’t Look Now (365: 35) – At the very last moment I’ve decided that this is my photo for today.

Morning Shave.

Resting (365: 34) – I haven’t got any enthusiasm for photography right now. I’ll get this over and done with for the day, and go back to sleep

Sneeze (365: 33) – In the last few days I’ve been coming down with a cold, and taking these self portraits has become a bit of a pain. This picture is awful, the alternate is slightly better, but this one sums up how I feel. 1   2

The Red Dress (365: 32) – For my final foray into the Copycat mini-challenge, this was going to be ‘The Red Shorts’ but then I thought I’d go one better… 1

February 6, 2007 – It’s not been a good night. I’ve taken over a hundred pictures and the good picture fairy hasn’t shown up.

Deliberate (365: 31) – Or if you prefer. ‘Red tie at night…’ Re-edit. I typically had one hour to grab and process a picture each day. So many of the shots and much of the processing were hurried. 2

I’m really not Amber or Cherron (365: 30) — Copycat of a copycat. I just couldn’t resist the copycat mini-challenge, especially when the wig mini-challenge surfaced on the same day. Two posts, one photo, result. The wig, strangely enough, is mine.

Morning Routine. A collage of four images. This was going to be my Day 30 picture, but I had another idea in the evening.

Waking Up (365: 29) – In the summer I sleep in the garden. In October I vowed to spend one night a month sleeping out and last night was February’s turn.

February Sunbathing.

February Sunbathing (365: 28) -After a long walk to the shops and back via the in-laws, it was time to sit in the garden and enjoy the sun. It wasn’t long before I decided it was warm enough to disrobe.

Foot of the Stairs (365: 27) — I discovered that after you’ve taken several ‘yards’ of feet pictures, as I did to take this photograph; feet start to look a bit odd. When I was a kid, I hated exposing my feet, I’d sit on the beach with my socks on. No longer.

Looking Up – But I’m Not (365: 26) — Another desperate last-minute picture. I leave myself so little time to take these pictures that it all gets quite a rush.

Portrait by Candlelight (365: 25).

Lunch in the Office (365: 24).

Eyes (365: 23) — None of the pictures I took today really worked.

Old Fossil (365: 22) – Based on the November 2006 National Geographic cover.

This is me — like it or not (365: 21). I’m fairly comfortable with my body, and I’m trying to learn to accept the changes that come with age, but there are always things one would like to change.
