View from my Day Three camp — The trail runs along the bottom of the hollow, and there was water in the creek too. Very annoying after carrying a full load here from Beecher Spring.

The forest has been ‘thinned’ in places

It looks like a jungle in there — Trail near Cattail Marsh, Tyrrell Park, Beaumont, Texas.

On the lake trail at Piney Creek Wilderness. It doesn’t look it, but that’s a 60-80 ft. climb.

In the woods – It is a nothing picture. You need to be there, listening to the birds, hearing and feeling the breeze, smelling the woodsy smells, and enjoying the warm sunshine on your skin.
