Daily Life

I Told You So (365: 139) — I’ve not read this book in years, and on picking it up I remembered it contains a hint on how to find what you need most. Hold the question in your mind and take a book, any book, open it at random, and there you’ll find your answer. I tried it.

A pain in the wallet (365: 137) — A weekly chore, and why is it as soon as I fill it up, Youngest needs his car back again?

All Saints Church, Portsmouth.

Drive-by Shot – I drive past this building most days, and I love the way the afternoon light catches it, but I have never had a reason to stop and try and photograph it.

Maisonettes Gary Helped Build — When I left college, I worked for a summer as a labourer on a building site, building these apartments.

Pearls of Wisdom (365: 124) — from the fridge. All too true.

At the top of the stairs (365: 123) — If I am being very good, twice a day I climb the stairs of the seven-story building opposite my office.

Brought to Book (365: 122) — I love books; just about every one of those shelves is double stacked. Fact, fiction, and illustrations. And I’ll reread some over and over.

Time to reflect (365: 121) — I’ve been on leave for a week, and I’m returning to work feeling absolutely wrecked. Oh well, that’s life, not to worry.

Chasing out the wall, chasing out the wall (365: 120) — To the tune of “Bringing in the Sheaves.”

A quick break (365: 118) – Chasing out for the electrics, I took a quick break for today’s picture.

Polling Day (365: 117) – Local council elections, and Gary does his civic duty.

South Parade Pier – Variations on a theme – IV — Desaturated.

South Parade Pier – Variations on a theme – II — Silhouette.

Wish you were here? (365: 116) — An afternoon spent taking pictures, none of which really worked. To compensate myself, I squeezed in some late sun. As it was late, I had no worries getting out the camera and taking my 365 Days shot for the day.

Afternoon nap (365: 115) — I’m on vacation this week, which oddly means less time to think about and take portraits. My last few shots have either been journal snaps or hastily taken portraits. Normal service will hopefully be resumed when I have some time and inspiration.

Flickr-light (365: 114). I was about to cheat and post a picture I took last night after midnight, but I knew it wasn’t right. My 365 day runs from getting up to bedtime.

The Last of the Sun — This small strip of deck gets the last of the sun before it dips below the houses opposite. 2

Moved in – With all the remaining untouched rooms in the house being decorated, I was not going to be able to keep an inside workshop, so I’ve moved my workbench and tools out into my first-ever shed. 1 4

Vacuuming the garden (365: 113) — I made a bit of a mess sawing up wood to make shelves for my new shed. I also need to finish picking up the gravel spilt over the deck in the winter when the storms repeatedly blew over the bamboo plant.

An Englishman’s shed is his Castle (365: 112) – I’ve never had a shed before, but now I’ve got two. This one for a workshop and another for my spare timber, paint, empty boxes, and disused electronics that one day might come in useful etc. 2

Late (365: 111) — This is it for today. No good, but it is a picture.
