Nettlestone Road

Fourteen months later – finished – A lot of water has passed under the bridge since the night in March 2007 when I started thinking about finishing off the work on the house. Two-minute read, 2 pictures

The builders have finished … well almost. 11 pictures

Shopping … delivered. It took another 15 years for this idea to catch on in Springfield.

Lilies — The lilies are flowering in the pond. I can’t get close enough to take a decent picture of them. 2

Moved in – With all the remaining untouched rooms in the house being decorated, I was not going to be able to keep an inside workshop, so I’ve moved my workbench and tools out into my first-ever shed. 1 4

Vacuuming the garden (365: 113) — I made a bit of a mess sawing up wood to make shelves for my new shed. I also need to finish picking up the gravel spilt over the deck in the winter when the storms repeatedly blew over the bamboo plant.

An Englishman’s shed is his Castle (365: 112) – I’ve never had a shed before, but now I’ve got two. This one for a workshop and another for my spare timber, paint, empty boxes, and disused electronics that one day might come in useful etc. 2

Late (365: 111) — This is it for today. No good, but it is a picture.

Day 03. Stairs — Most of the clearing up is complete. I detest these stairs. I’ve spent hours looking at them, trying to come up with an idea of how to deal with them. So far, no joy.

Day 03. Fruits of our labours — That is a lot of rubble. It took one day to knock it down and two days to clear it up!

Work in progress.

Day 02. Just a bit of a mess.

Day 02. Middle hall looking east.

Day 02. This was my Workroom — Ceiling and wall taken down.

Day 02. Looking Out … From my workroom into the hall.

Day 02. This was my Workroom — Ceiling and wall taken down.

Day 02. Middle Hall Looking west — Partway through clearing up.

Temporary Storage — All the stuff in my workroom is now in the Kitchen and out in the garden! How did such a lot of stuff fit in such a small room? 2

Hall cleared and Ready — Middle floor landing looking east; cleared and ready to drop the ceilings.

Damage — This is the damage to the wall outside Eldest’s bedroom caused by door slamming!

Workroom: Cleared and ready — My workroom emptied of everything except the home network server cupboard, which will have to stay in place.

Cleared and ready — Looking westward down the middle floor hall, my workroom to the right. The wall on the right has to come down.

Stairs to the top floor. I hate that banister. We cleared and stripped the hall and my work room, ready to take down the wall and ceilings.

Workshop (in my office) — The other side of my office/work room or ‘Shed’ if you prefer.
