Back to the Bookcases – (See what I did there?) Today I got a chance to put the final coat of varnish on the backs of the bookcases. Then this evening I indulged myself with an orgy of nailing with the nail gun. It’s starting to look a lot like my plan. 2 pictures

Lanie & Getzger — Testing some new lights with Lanie and Getzger’s help. It’s a shame the depth of field is just too shallow, one of Lanie’s eyes is slightly out of focus. I couldn’t get the pair of them to stay still long enough for a decent picture.

The start of the evening – The evenings are starting to get cool and temporarily at least, the mosquitoes have gone away.
Watching my work companion I’m thinking it might be worth my while switching allegiances to Buddhism. After all, from what I’ve seen, the possibility of being reincarnated as an in-door domestic cat seems to be a pretty good option.
Ever since Tubby was introduced to cat videos on YouTube he has become obsessed with screens and anything vaguely screen shaped. This is not always conducive to my work. He sits on my desk for ages staring at the screen following the mouse pointer.
Yard Work and Ceramic Fish – We cleared a bunch of yard work today. I borrowed Tom’s pole saw and cleared a load of limbs. Then I fixed the privacy fence on the deck and put up the last of the fish (somehow I’d left one in my desk drawer when I hung up the others). I wonder if my sister remembers giving me these fish, That was a long time ago, possibly over ten years. 2 pictures

Washer Repairs (Part I) – Thursday night the washer started smoking. Obviously, that’s not a habit to be encouraged, so I took a quick look and determined that the transmission support bearing had broken up.
Cats Watching TV – We’ve created a monster. Tubby now thinks any rectangular object is fair game to stare at. Picture frames for example. He also sits next to our monitors waiting for something to move. Worse he sits right in the middle of the screen while we are watching movies and shows on Netflix.
Time to sort out my fishing gear and clean and lube the reels. I’m going fishing.
Lanie’s Birthday — Lanie is in the middle of a very busy week. The play she is in was put back by snow days. So, for her birthday, she’s been at school all day and then spent the evening at rehearsals. 5
Shopping at Ikea We almost bought more than we could carry. It took a little bit of juggling to get everything in the van but we managed it. Just. 2 pictures
