Photograph of a garage workbench - mid project

Procrastinating In The Workshop. There are lots of other things I could be doing, like yard work. Instead, I’ve chosen to make three cellphone stands and a couple of bench rollers.

Color photograph of paper napkins in a holder on a wooden kitchen table

Paper Napkins – Earlier today the light on the kitchen table caught my eye,and I wanted to take a picture but I was too busy. Fortunately the sky has been heavily overcast all day, when I stopped for lunch it was still looking good and I grabbed a few pictures.

Function vs Form – Knives – When I first wrote a few thoughts about Function vs Form I used my lighters as an example. This time I’ve been pondering over the knives I’ve been using for the past 30-odd years. Five-minute read

Photograph of an armadillo Belt Buckle

Armadillo Belt Buckle – During our Fathers’ Day weekend visit to Jim and Carol’s, Jim asked me if I wanted a belt with an armadillo Buckle. Well, actually I’m pretty sure he said arma-dildo but we’ll gloss over that. One-minute read

Photograph of a Hibiscus flower in color

And the same picture in color … When I noticed the sunlight dappling the flower I decided to take the picture, no matter how twee hibiscus flower pictures are. Thinking about it; for a better shot I should have got the sunlight in the background behind the stamen.

Function vs Form – This is one of those odd conundrums that often troubles me. When form and function meet and reinforce each other, I don’t have a problem. Examples of this are my current camera, my Swiss Navy knife, and dare I say it, my Beretta. However, when form and function diverge and do not reinforce each other I have big issues choosing between a product with elegant aesthetic design and its functionality. In some cases the tension this causes for me is tangible and on-going. Five-minute read, 6 pictures

Blue Glass Porsche – It’s been over a year since I got my Fujifilm X-E2s camera, and thus far I only have a couple of complaints. The first is that I didn’t buy it (or the X-Pro2) long, long ago. The second is that in the past year I’ve not had a lot of time to just sit and play with it. two-minute read. +1

Feet Up and Taking a Break – We’ve been a tad busy of late, so I took a day off and just sat in the back yard.
