Southampton

One of the very first photographs I took when I bought my first digital camera. I’ve always liked this image, when I decided to re-visit the picture I also produced this black and white version. Fawley Oil Refinery, Southampton Water, Hampshire, UK.

Gary’s last day working at the University of Southampton – Today was my last day at the University of Southampton. This is what I said to my friends and colleagues… One-minute read, 2 pictures

Stairwell – The Excellent lighting comes from a single roof-light. Very sixties construction, though I think it may have been built a lot later.

Blue Sky reflected in the windows of a blue building framed by a blue sky

Blue – I spotted this picture while waiting for a train. I (correctly) judged I’d have just enough time to run over and get the picture before the train arrived.

St. Barnabas Church, Rose Road, Southampton.

Stairwell – Oceanographic Institute.

Building 29 — I saw this picture while stretching my legs this afternoon, the sun was just going down, tracking up the side of the building.

EEE (Yes, that is the official designation of this building…)

Hartley Library, University of Southampton.

Graduation Week 2007 – I was not invited to my son’s graduation. I volunteered to help with Graduation at work. I thought it would distract me from thinking about my son’s graduation. It didn’t.

EEE Building – campus on my lunch break.

Lunch at the ‘Gate’ (365: 138) — Invited for a lunch time meeting I picked a Pub. Note this is a very rare thing. I had a drink; I’m normally strictly water until the evening

At the top of the stairs (365: 123) — If I am being very good, twice a day I climb the stairs of the seven-story building opposite my office.

Buildings 28 & 29 — What wonderful names they’ve got at the university! My office is even better, 35A! Aka David Kiddle.

Nightingale Building — The cleverly named building for the School of Nursing. At least it’s not a number.

Faraday — The Faraday Building, University of Southampton.

The Bottom of the Barrel (365: 87) — Possibly a 365 days all-time low.

After the Meeting — I managed to close the meeting in half an hour, leaving enough time for a quick picture.

Yellow Flight.

Terminal.

Lunch in the Office (365: 24).
