Back on the Piney Creek Trail – it’s a 20′-30′ drop to the creek. I was looking for good camping spots. The best are probably at the very start of the Piney Creek Trail. The trail is overgrown and difficult to follow in many places. +1

Once you get to the bottom of the ridge, there are two creek crossings before the climb up the other side of the hollow begins. +1

Thwarted in the last few feet – I had hoped to get access to the creek here. The feeder-creek stopped some eight feet or so above the level of Beaver Creek. -2 min | x5

Morning mist on Table Rock Lake – I wasn’t totally surprised to find mist drifting down from Piney Creek when I woke up. I ‘d seen the same thing happen in much colder conditions in January. I checked the water temperature and it was still warm(-ish) so I had a swim. Who could tun down such an opportunity? Piney Creek Wilderness – Day Three. 2 pictures
