It is around a fifteen-minute south-southeast hike from the Big Piney Trail Camp Trailhead, located off of the Slabtown Road, at the Northern end of the Wilderness — see the map image. It’s five or six miles (-ish) northeast from the Little Paddy Creek Overlook.

It’s a Galaxy 4 Watch. I got it because it has FDA approval for ECG recording. However, there is a huge but involved. The watch ECG recording only integrates with a Galaxy Phone. It’ll integrate heart rate okay to most modern phones though.

Unless you are in the market for a new phone I wouldn’t recommend one.

There is a whole tranche of heart monitors on the market now as they are becoming very popular with fitness fanatics. None are inexpensive.

For just heart rate a Fitbit works quite well and was what I used before I decided I wanted to grab ECG traces on the fly. Not that I’ve done anything with the traces 🙂 I could bore my cardiologist with them I suppose.

In order for them to work properly the devices have to be worn quite tight. In my experience sweat accumulates under them causing irritation. I now douse my wrist in hand sanitizer at the start of each day (seems to work!).

I think you might be right. Even for an old vehicle, it’s not wide enough to sit two abreast. Some sort of tractor cab, I’ll take that 🙂 It’s pretty fancy with a split opening windscreen!

The longer form posts I was writing were too much of a drain on my time. I switched to much shorter posts that make the blog more of a photo album with notes (not that I’m completely done with long-form posting, we’ll see). The problem with doing that was a huge jump in the number of posts, especially when a weekend trip can result in dozens of pictures. So I turned off the notifications and forgot to turn them back on until recently.
